Crocheting Class:

Beginner Crocheting Class: Learn the Basics! 

Ever wanted to learn how to crochet but didn’t know where to start? This beginner-friendly class is designed just for you! Whether you’ve never picked up a crochet hook or need a refresher on the basics, you’ll leave feeling confident and inspired to keep creating.

In this class, you’ll learn:
How to hold your crochet hook and yarn comfortably
How to make a slip knot and chain stitch
Basic stitches like single crochet and double crochet
How to read a simple crochet pattern
Tips for choosing the right yarn and hook for your projects
How to start and finish a basic crocheting project

You’ll work on a small, simple project in class — like a dishcloth, coaster, or practice swatch — so you can apply what you’ve learned right away!

What to Bring:

1 skein of medium-weight (Worsted/Size 4) yarn in any color you like
Size H (5.0 mm) crochet hook
Small scissors
Yarn needle (optional, helpful for weaving in ends)
If you’re unsure about what to buy, feel free to message us — we’re happy to help you pick the right supplies!

We’ll also have a few extra hooks and yarn available for those who may need them.

What to Expect:
A relaxed, no-pressure atmosphere where you can ask questions, learn at your own pace, and connect with others who are just starting out too. By the end of the class, you’ll have a solid understanding of crochet basics and the confidence to keep practicing on your own.

No experience necessary — just bring your supplies, a smile, and a willingness to try something new!

Machine Set-Up & Design Space Tour (15 mins)

* Powering on and connecting your Cricut.

* Installing Design Space on your device.

* Quick tour of the Design Space home screen.

* Use basic shapes & text.

* Resize, rotate, duplicate.

* Save a project.

Material & Blade Basics (5 mins)

* Different cutting mats & when to use them.

Always mirror designs when using iron-on! Keep your blade sharp for clean cuts. Save and name your projects so you can reuse them.

Card Making Class with Lois or Marie:

Join us for a fun and creative 2-hour card making class at Honey For Your Soul–The Creative Hive! Whether you're a seasoned crafter or trying this for the first time, this class is perfect for anyone who enjoys handmade projects and personal touches.

What to Expect:
In this hands-on class, you’ll create a variety of beautiful, handcrafted greeting cards using a mix of papers, embellishments, stamps, and techniques. The instructor will provide step-by-step guidance, helpful tips, and inspiration along the way.

Class Includes:

  • All materials and supplies to make 3–4 unique cards (unless otherwise noted — any additional supplies required will be listed prior to class)

What to Expect:
In this class, you’ll complete two beautifully designed 12" x 12" scrapbook page layouts. The instructor will guide you step-by-step through the process of selecting coordinating papers, embellishments, and arranging your photos and journaling for polished, personalized designs.

What to Expect:
This is a simple, no-frills event — just you, your projects, and a space to spread out and create at your own pace. No classes, no extras, no organized activities — just dedicated time to get things done!
